The Silent Train Journey

It was an afternoon Journey in Chennai Express, The one thing I remember fondly about
all my train journeys are the people I meet.I recall all the train journeys from Lucknow to Kerala in general compartment where every experience has been so much different, from the times with no reservation and the times when you meet a complete stranger and talk for so many hours.
This was one such journey which left me awestruck.
It was rainy afternoon when i boarded my train from Trivandrum to Thiruvala , i went and sat in a compartment where there were two kids -Elder brother and Younger Sister with their mom and dad , Safe to say I always choose compartment with families, as if you are travelling alone you usually go for the safest of options .
I was sitting there with my headset on and trying to catch some sleep after a tiring day at work , when the younger one tilts her head and touches my bracelet ( One thing about girls when they are young they have to keep checking the older girls , from nail paints to jewelry it is all amazing for them ) As she tries to play with my hand her mom takes her hand away and say sorry with hand gestures . At the same time, her dad tells something to his son in sign language and his son communicates to me saying “Dad Says – Annie is pretty naughty “
I am speechless for a second, Both Husband and wife can’t speak or listen but their children know the “Sign Language” so that is how they communicate. The world we live in not so easy to live and they have raised two beautiful kids in this world gave me a sublime hope to have faith in goodness.
We started communicating I asked Andrew their son where are you traveling too he said Chennai ,they came to Trivandrum for a pilgrimage visit , In Between Annie asked me for my bracelet and Andrew was quick to scold Annie “That it is bad manners ” I was amazed to see the Young man , Man I say because at young age he knew his responsibilities he knew he has to take care of his sister and he has to take care of his parents .
The family was a very warm a cheerful father, mother, naughty sister and a responsible son .
It was one of the most cherished Train journeys, as it had the feeling which will not leave you ,It makes you count your blessings and your hurdles all at once It makes you realize that at the end of the day your struggles are not the biggest of all struggles and there are some people who are not complaining like you are and living their life with hope and happiness.
